The Panthers visit the Raymond James Stadium sporting a 3-8 record to face the Bucs who are hardly doing much greater at 4-7. Both squads have underperformed thus far this year and will be looking to turn things around.
Bet on baseball
In writing, this appears to be a pretty even match. Neither side has been making scoring look effortless this year. Quarterbacks Josh Freeman and Cam Newton have both thrown for 12 tds, but have also been intercepted 16 and 14 times each. This makes it tough to win matches.
UFC betting
The running game has played somewhat greater with both LeGarrette Blount and DeAngelo Williams making yards. The Carolina defense will have to perform substantially much better than in recent weeks to contain Blount especially, as he can be a destructive ball-carrier.
However, if Tampa appears to have a slight advantage on the ground, the Panthers are more of a menace out wide. Steve Smith has been good for over one thousand yards and 5 Tds, 2 times as much as Tampa’s Mike Williams along with his 3 visits to the end zone.
Defensively, both sides have seemed less than persuasive in the campaign. Surely Charles Johnson has been successful in getting to the opposition qb this year (7.5 sacks per game on average), but as a unit the Panthers haven’t really been inspiring fear in anybody. And for the Bucs, the story is not much greater. Sean Jones and his sixty six tackles is the top they’ve got to offer, but this leaves the Tampa defense far from the top in the league at this time.
A hard game to pick then. With both squads struggling to fire on all cylinders, it appears like being the running game of Blount versus the top that Smith can produce out wide. A great 1st quarter for one side or the other could be enough to master the match.
